Before new growth comes, the soil has to be turned.

Every season of growth begins with change… and often, change starts by being uncomfortable.
In this week’s episode of Rooted for Growth, I talk about what it means to walk through a season of becoming—the space between what was and what’s next.

This is the season where God turns over the soil of our lives. It’s not always easy… but it’s where transformation begins.

🌱 When God Uses the In-Between

I remember just days after Eryn passed away, sitting at my desk staring at my laptop, wondering why anything mattered anymore. I was still in school at Liberty University, and one of my classes at the time was called Spiritual Integration.

Honestly, I didn’t want to be there. The world felt upside down. But that week’s assignment was on grief—and how God can still work through tremendous loss.

It was the first time after she died that I felt God speak to me clearly again. I realized that even in my pain, He was still forming me into something new.

That’s what becoming looks like. It’s trusting that God is still at work even when you can’t see the outcome yet.

🌾 Pruning Isn’t Punishment—It’s Preparation

Jesus said in John 15:1–2 (KJV):

“Every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”

We don’t like the pruning process because it hurts. But pruning isn’t about losing—it’s about making room for new growth.
When we stop clinging to the old and start trusting God’s timing, we make space for Him to bring something better to life.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just have to keep showing up in faith.

🪞 Becoming Is About Surrender

Here’s the truth: Becoming isn’t about striving or achieving—it’s about surrendering.

Philippians 1:6 reminds us,

“He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

God isn’t finished with you yet. The roots are growing deeper even if you can’t see the fruit yet.

So, if you’re in a season of waiting, change, or transition, don’t rush the process.
Let God turn the soil of your heart. He’s preparing you for something greater than you can imagine.

🌱 Final Thought

Friend, if you’re in your own season of becoming… remember, roots grow before fruit shows.
Trust that God is doing something beneath the surface.

You don’t have to see the full picture to know He’s working.

Keep showing up. Keep trusting the process.
And remember—you’re not alone in this journey.

We’re Rooted for Growth… together.
